My name is Janak Porwal. But in the world of poetry, I write as Nidhidas.
The name is an offering of gratitude — Nidhi, in honour of Dr. Nidhi, my spiritual and practical mentor and guide; Das, a reminder to remain a servant of the word, a student of life, and a seeker rather than an arrival.
The name is also inspired by the great literary tradition of Kalidas Ji and Tulsidas Ji — not as a claim to stand beside them, but as a humble attempt to walk in their shadow.

The journey

The poems move through love, longing, human nature, relationships, questions, responsibility, nature, Krishna, the Gita and the soul. Bhakti is less a category than the attitude with which the journey is approached.

Some feelings do not ask to be explained. Some memories refuse to become memories. And sometimes, when silence itself becomes too full — it becomes poetry.

My professional life has taught me to think in systems, patterns, logic and algorithms. Poetry teaches me something else: that not everything meaningful can be calculated.
Technology asks, ‘How does it work?’ Poetry asks, ‘What does it mean?’ Nidhidas lives somewhere between the two.
